3 Panchayat Boycott election

On 30th October 2021 the Lok Sabha by-poll elections for Mandi constituency were scheduled to be organised. Rarang panchayat, Jangi Panchayat and Akpa Panchayat Boycotted the elections as a sign of protest against the proposed Jangi Thopan power project. The campaigners initially encouraged people to vote for NOTA and later on the inclination shifted towards boycotting the election as none of the political parties paid any heed to their objections against the proposed project. NOTA also received many votes across Kinnaur.
